At Technical Tooling we specialize in making complex molds and pattern tools for the manufacture of composite structures using our 5-axis CNC router. We can make direct to female molds to save your company time and money. We can also machine your prototype for testing and mock-up purposes.
Our process is unique because our molds and plugs are made of a light weight, inexpensive foam mounted to a rigid, steel frame. The product is topped off with fiberglass and epoxy resin which is then machined using diamond coated tools. The mold or plug is finished with multiple coats of vinyl ester paint sanded between every coat. The results are high quality glass epoxy tools with high temperature porosity free vinyl ester face coat.
We are a small business that can make decisions and changes quickly. We run two shifts so we can meet tight deadlines. Our lead times are generally short from the time we receive your final P.O. and drawings.
